Dasyloricaria filamentosa is a fish of the family Loricariidae, in the order Siluriformes. It is a nocturnal fish that feeds on algae.

These fish are specialists in finding a rich and varied food supply by grazing on algae. They are mainly nocturnal, remaining hidden and inactive during daylight hours, and beginning to search for food when it gets dark.

It is found mainly in South America and its common name is Loricaria filamentosa.
